When it comes time for students to pick a major at school, it is clear that certain areas of study are much less popular than others. This reality is one that the Bud Shorstein Center of Jewish Studies at the University of Florida suffers from on a regular basis. As they were in need of more students to take on their academic offerings and more interaction with the center as a whole, the following campaign was born: “Let your bud bloom.” This idea is centered around one main theme - friendship. While speaking with college students, they expressed that the best part of college is being able to share it with those special people they meet along the way. And there is no better way to reach them than by echoing their own ideas through social media content, local events, and a new digital mascot and interactive chatbot by the name of Buddy.
